A part of the money you pay for AWI activities will be invested in the empowerment of women and girls in developing countries, and in organizations that work for the preservation of our planet. Below are organizations we have partnered with.

Awakening Women Institute is micro-lending part of the money you pay for our programs to women entrepreneurs world wide.
We have joined Kiva in their mission to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.
Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world.
100% Carbon Free with Carbonfund.org - Awakening Women Institute
Awakening Women Institute has partnered with Carbonfund.org to offset carbon emission created from our traveling and other activities.
We believe this initiative will help us (and our students) move even closer to our goal of achieving sustainable, eco-friendly living.
We support a myriad of Carbonfund.org's global projects, including:
* Renewable Energy: investing in clean energy development, such as wind and solar. (see current projects)
* Energy Efficiency: investing in projects that reduce existing energy use, much of which comes from coal, oil and natural gas. (see current projects)
* Reforestation: investing in reforestation projects that absorb existing CO2 emissions, helping to reduce the excess greenhouse gases that humans have added to the atmosphere.
How You Can Help
By participating in AWI activities you are automatically part of our efforts to protect the environment . We'll automatically contribute a part of the money you pay for your training and products to Carbonfund.org! By joining our initiative, you will be investing in climate-friendly projects such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, and reforestation. This effectively offsets the carbon dioxide emitted through the travels and other activities of our Institute. If you would like to contribute to carbon offset for your own travel to one of our events you can calculate and donate at www.carbonfund.org
The Hunger project; From their mission statement:
In all our work, the highest priority is the empowerment of women. Women traditionally bear primary responsibility for family health, education, nutrition and - increasingly - family income. Yet women have been systematically denied information, resources and voice in decisions that affect their lives.
Partnership:
When we give money to The Hunger Project we do not see ourselves as donors - giving our money to someone who is, in some way, less than ourselves - but as investors, as stakeholders, standing in full and coequal partnership with hungry people in achieving a future free from hunger.
The Hunger Project does not give handouts. They build self-reliance, empowering people to achieve permanent solutions to chronic hunger.
The Hunger Project works at the heart of the problem, rather than making small contributions at the periphery. We participate at the cutting edge in transforming the critical issues for humanity’s future — the empowerment of women, and the decentralization of local democracy
AWI Supports The Pachamama Alliance
The Pachamama Alliance is a U.S. based not-for-profit organization that was born out of a relationship developed between a group of people from the modern world and the leaders of remote indigenous groups in the Amazon region of Ecuador. This relationship was actually initiated by the indigenous elders and shamans themselves who, out of their deep concern for the growing threat to their ancient way of life, and their recognition that the roots of this threat lay far beyond their rainforest home, actively sought the partnership of committed individuals living in the modern world.
